Water, Electricity, Garbage
The residential utility deposit is $200, garbage collection is billed on all electric accounts, and AMEX is accepted at the 24/7 drive-up kiosk.
Free Energy Audits
Altus Power, along with their wholesale electricity supplier, The Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority (OMPA), offers free energy audits to Altus Power residential customers. These can be very useful for consumers. For more info or to schedule your free energy audit, call Altus Power at 580-481-2256.
The City of Altus does not have an official recycling program, but Altus AFB does. Those with base access can recycle paper, plastic, and cardboard using drop-off bins, 24 hours a day.

Storm Shelter Registration
The Altus Fire Department has provided a storm shelter registration program since 1999. This is a free service for residents within the city limits of Altus, and is completely voluntary.
Shelter registration is part of an effort to be proactive in rescue response in the event of a severe-weather related emergency.
